Title Officer
Location: Mayfield Heights, OH

SUMMARY OF JOB:  The position primarily requires the employee to review title exams prepared by our vendors; prepare title insurance commitments, invoices, and policies; to review surveys; and to work on clearing title issues.

DUTIES & RESPONSIB LITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Reviewing title exams and following up with title examiners to obtain any required information.
  • Preparation of title insurance commitments, invoices, and policies.
  • Work with in-house legal counsel, and other Title Officers to learn and assist each other with title issues.
  • Work with Underwriter counsel as needed for situations that require approval.
  • Work with Escrow Officers to help them understand what documentation is required for the Company to insure title.
  • Provide title updates, as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Experience with reviewing title exams and preparing title insurance commitments and policies.
  • License as a title insurance agent or willingness to obtain a license shortly after hire.
  • Ability to work quickly, but accurately.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
  • Knowledge of Soft Pro Select is preferred, but not necessarily required.
